Following extensive research and testing, Champion Canine Designs has created a system that offers you the convenience and versatility of a quick-release design, and your dog the protection and comfort of a specially engineered safety harness. The CHAMPION Canine Seat Belt System attaches easily to all types of vehicle seat belts, and cargo hooks in SUVs, vans, trucks, and wagons.

During a 30 MPH collision your dog can exert a force of up to 20 times their bodyweight! (1200 lbs. for a 60 lb. dog!) Unlike most "car safety harnesses" and walking harness, the CHAMPION System is designed to handle this unusual load and protect your dog by distributing the pressure evenly on the stronger areas of the chest.

Dogs can lay, sit, or stand, even turn circles! The wide range of attachment options, adjustability, and swivel feature make it easy to restrain your dog, control range of movement, and prevent entanglement - a common problem with other seat belt harnesses.

SAFETY

special safety harness design - Sizes M-XL can hold over 2000 lbs.! This is many times stronger then most harnesses. This strength is required to provide reliable protection in an accident or quick stop. Using a D-ring from each side, the CHAMPION Harness does not depend on plastic buckles or metal "tongue buckles" for load bearing on impact. These types of buckles may weaken with wear and abuse, become brittle in cold temperatures, and in our opinion just do not provide adequate protection. This dual-ring feature makes the system very strong and reliable. It can protect your dog even if the quick-release buckles are broken or improperly fastened!

extra wide side straps  - help distribute pressure across your dog's body reducing the chance of injury. Our M-XL systems use 1 1/2" straps, and our XS-S sizes use 3/4" and 1" straps, at least 50% wider then most walking harnesses.

extra strong, rounded profile hardware - The swivel snap (sizes M-XL) is a "bull snap" also used to restrain heavy livestock animals, and much stronger then the usual die-cast zinc leash type swivel snaps. The round and D rings used are some of the strongest welded rings available. All hardware features a smooth profile with no sharp edges to injure your dog.

cushioned, floating chest pad -   allows the top of the harness to slide freely to each side, helping to prevent shoulder injuries during a crash or quick stop, and allowing the comfortable use of a shorter (and safer) restraint strap. The V-shaped top of the harness is designed to help stabilize the dog and prevent violent spinning around in an accident.

wide, smooth nylon webbing - our premium grade washable nylon feels very soft and smooth, and is designed, along with the padded chest strap, to be worn on long road trips and walks without irritating your dog's skin. The padded chest strap also features a 100% fur-resistant but very soft and comfortable packcloth lining.

versatile, adjustable - allows dogs to sit up, stand,  or lay down. The strap adjusts from 10 to 20" (M-XL, others slightly smaller) to control your dog's range of movement. The swivel hook lets your dog move around comfortably without getting tangled.

no-bunch harness design - eliminates the bunching and pinching problems that occur when most harnesses are used with seat belt restraints.

COLOR CHOICE:

If you want to measure your dog, loop a tape around the chest just behind the front legs as shown in the illustration. Pull the tape snug but not tight. If you do not have a soft measuring tape - no problem, just use a piece of string and then hold it up to a yardstick or metal measuring tape.
